Manga Debut
The One Piece manga series was created by Eiichiro Oda and began serialization in the Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine in July 1997. The series follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy, a young man who dreams of becoming the Pirate King. The manga has been published in over 40 countries and has sold over 490 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling manga series of all time.
Anime Premiere
The One Piece anime series premiered in Japan on October 20, 1999. The series was produced by Toei Animation and aired on Fuji TV. The anime series has been airing continuously since its premiere and has over 1,000 episodes. The anime series has been dubbed into over 20 languages and has been broadcast in over 80 countries.
